Job description
We are partnered with a well-funded e-commerce startup in Riyadh, backed by a major retail group, to hire their first permanent CTO. The business is live and growing, but the technology ambition is far bigger than where it sits today. This is a build role and a management role.
The incoming CTO will take ownership of the company's entire technology direction, architecting and building a fully integrated, proprietary platform spanning ecommerce, warehousing, order management, logistics, POS, marketplace operations, and data infrastructure. The goal is a scalable, internally owned ecosystem that gives the business a genuine edge across the GCC.
About the role:
- Own and execute the long-term technology roadmap
- Architect modular, API-first systems built for scale across omnichannel retail and ecommerce operations
- Build proprietary systems including WMS, OMS, ERP, POS, shipping infrastructure, and marketplace middleware
- Oversee architecture and all third-party integrations
- Build and lead high-performing engineering and product teams
- Manage internal developers alongside external agencies and system integrators
- Drive execution at pace while maintaining stability and quality
About you:
- 10+ years in software engineering and technology leadership
- Strong track record building proprietary systems across retail, ecommerce, logistics, or warehousing
- Deep knowledge of WMS, OMS, ERP, POS, and inventory architecture
- Proven ability to build from scratch, not just configure SaaS tools
- Experienced leading engineering teams in high-growth environments
- Builder mentality with sharp operational instincts and a bias for execution
- Based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh
