2nd Line IT Engineer
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Onsite - Milton Keynes
Working hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm - Monday - Friday
An established global brand and technology-led organisation is seeking a 2nd Line IT Engineer to join its core IT Infrastructure function, supporting a diverse range of business critical systems while contributing to ongoing modernisation and transformation initiatives.
The 2nd Line IT Engineer position offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious, hands-on engineer who is eager to develop, keen to learn and motivated by a role where no two days look the same. Also, the 2nd Line IT Engineer will gain exposure to core infrastructure technologies, project delivery and advanced technical environments, with clear scope to progress into a full 3rd Line Infrastructure position.
Responsibilities for the 2nd Line IT Engineer:
- Deliver hands-on support across a range of business critical systems, ensuring stability, high performance and rapid issue resolution
- Maintain and enhance core infrastructure services, including servers, virtual environments, storage platforms and security controls whilst also assisting with 2nd line tasks when required
- Take ownership of improving monitoring, reliability and visibility across key operational systems
- Support the rollout of new technical solutions, contributing to planning, configuration and smooth integration into the wider estate
- Work closely with teams across the business to understand requirements and translate them into practical technical actions
- Uphold best practices in system administration, security, documentation and change control
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, modernise systems and adopt new technologies
