Requirement to augment the technical expertise of the finance team to implement the action plan for Financial Accounting function and meet the internal/external audit demands for the 2020/21 year.
The contractor will work with the finance team to develop policies, apply accounting standards and introduce processes that will uplift the technical competence and overall capability of the finance in financial accounting and control.
* Review and enhancement of the Financial Accounting action plan for the year - Oct'20 * Help conduct Asset Impairment Review and IFRS16 Review - Q3 * Help Prepare and deliver successful Interim audit with significant progress demonstrated in closing NAO recommendations from previous year * Develop necessary financial policies - Q3, Q4 * Successful year-end audit with significant reductions in audit errors identified compared with last year * Technical reporting in accounting issues and complex transactions * Develop a wider finance staff in Financial Accounting and GAAP/IFRS standards
* A Qualified Accountant with expertise in government finances. * Proficient in GAAP and IFRS standards and in particular fixed assets, IFR16, provisions. * Proficient in leading practices for Financial Accounting policies and procedures that lead to 'best-in class' Financial Accounting function. * Experience in managing senior stakeholders and influencing compliance with control processes. * Excellent collaborating and communication skills both verbal and written. * Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills.
