Data Protection / Data Security Specialist - 6-month Contract

Rate: Up to £650 per day

Duration: 6 months

IR35: Inside

Location: Hybrid - up to 1 day per week in either London, Manchester or Bristol - whichever is closest

The role:

A leading Central Government Institution are seeking a highly credible Data protection / Data Security Specialist, with practical experience in privacy, data protection and GDPR.

In this role you will support the extensive data privacy, data security and assurance requirements, related to a high profile, complex security and privacy programme.

Experience requirements & Responsibilities:

* Practical experience in privacy, data protection and GDPR
* Strong understanding of the Data Protection Act and be experienced in ensuring DPA compliance for digital services
* Expert in Public Electronic Communication Regulation (PECR)
* Strong track record of leading complex data security and privacy programmes
* Experience carrying out Privacy information risk assessments for digital services, ideally with a range of formal risk methodologies
* Demonstrable track record in providing Privacy information security assurance of digital identity and other web-based services / cloud services
* Comfortable in the setup of robust data privacy frameworks and developing a data assurance plan from the outset
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders inside and outside government across different specialist functions
