Service Desk Engineer - Hemel Hempstead - £30,000 to £36,000 Benefits

A well-established client of mine is looking for a Service Desk Engineer to join their highly talented team to provide remote support to their clients. As the Service Desk Engineer you will be working as part of a team of analysts who restore normal service operation as quickly as possible whilst ensuring that the best achievable levels of availability and service are maintained. This is role where you will be exposed to new technologies such as Azure and where you will be supported by a company who invests in its employees.

Job Responsibilities:

* Provide user support for all the business systems and applications
* Responsible for taking and assigning incidents, requests or tasks and escalating to the relevant team member if needed and to see tickets through to resolution.
* You will also be included in tasks such as; installation of software, patching and updating desktops, laptops and other devices.

Essential Skills - Service Desk Engineer:

* Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 - Administration
* Understanding around virtualisation tools (Hyper-V or VMware)
* Active Directory - account creation & Group Policy
* DNS / DHCP
* Office 365 - user support & troubleshooting
* Windows 10 - user support
* Adept at using Ticketing Systems - (ConnectWise or any others)

Desirable Skills - Service Desk Engineer

* Azure
* Mac - user support
* Financial Sector Experience

Soft Skills - Service Desk Engineer

* Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving
* Impeccable communication and organisational skills
* The ability to work independently and in a team
* Strong inter-personal skills, be able to maintain good relationships with users and colleagues

As the Service Desk Engineer, you will provide technical support for all users providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for any issues. The Service Desk Engineer will be exposed to a wide variety of technologies and situations, making this a brilliant role to continue building a strong career in IT.
