Level 1 Network Engineer - £25,000 - £27,000 Benefits - St Albans
An exciting client of mine is looking for a Level 1 Network Engineer that will be working to maintain and improve their existing network. The Level 1 Network Engineer will be providing support and maintenance for networking, telephony, wireless, desktop administration and desk side issues as well as general IT support.
As a Network Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing quality technical support for their rapidly growing business which is aiming to expand overseas as well as continuing their growth in the UK. You will diagnose problems and troubleshoot issues on the network, including the wireless access points, security appliances, switches and answer directly in to the IT manager.
Characteristics of success in this role include previous experience in supporting or testing LANs, VLANs, VPNs, NAT devices, or DHCP servers; experience installing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks; and having the ability to multi-task and work under pressure. The client is looking for people who take pride in doing excellent work and can both teach and learn from those around them.
The role of Level 1 Network Engineer will occasionally involve travel to warehouses across the UK exposing the engineer to different environments for them to learn and develop their skillset from. The Level 1 Network Engineer will be heavily involved in logging daily tickets, scheduling PPM attendance, replacing failed equipment, backups, patching and much more.
Key Skills - Level 1 Network Engineer:
* Previous experience as a Level 1 Network Engineer
* Management of HP/Cisco Switches
* Administration of Telephony systems
* IP Phone support - Mitel preferred
* Hands on experience support and understanding of VLANs and Ports
* Active Directory - account creation/deletion, password resets
* Understanding of VPNs
Desirable Skills - Level 1 Network Engineer:
* Hyper-V or VMware
* Office 365 - administration and support of the office suite
* Group Policies
* CCNA qualified
* Experience with various Anti-Virus technologies
