1st-2nd Line Support Engineer - Central London - £28,000-£34,000

My Client, a growing Managed Service Provider, is currently recruiting for a 1st-2nd Line Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis with a salary of £28,000-£34,000. You will be supporting my Client's financial customers across Central London using a variety of technologies.

As a 1st-2nd Line Support Engineer, you will be expected to provide high quality support on technologies such as Active Directory, Windows Server 2008 / 2012 and Office 365.

Main Duties:

Providing high quality 1st and 2nd line support to a variety of technologies
*

Timely resolution or escalation of customer tickets to 2nd line/3rd line
*

Actively monitor the network monitoring system and action/escalate any critical/impacting alerts
*

Take ownership of customer issues and provide regular and timely updates on faults/issues to customer, service desk manager and account managers
*

Follow change control procedures considering the risk to the business of any proposed updates/changes
*

You will work as part of a team of engineers who will restore normal service operation with minimum disruption to customers, ensuring that the best achievable levels of availability and service
*

You will ensure daily checklists on client sites are completed and any issues are reported and resolved effectively by the Service Desk including troubleshooting day to day problems when identified

Essential skills:

Excellent communication skills on all levels
*

Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 10 Desktop skills and experience
*

Microsoft Office Suite experience
*

Active Directory administration experience
*

Office 365 or Exchange 2010/2013 support experience
*

Local and network printer installation, configuration & support
*

Demonstrable ability to manage and priorities significant workloads
*

Citrix and thin client technologies awareness
*

ITIL Awareness

Desirable:

*

Previous 2nd-3rd Line Support Engineer experience
*

Previous experience working for an MSP
*

Experience working in the financial industry
