2nd Line Support Engineer - Central London - £30,000 - £35,000 Benefits

A leading Managed IT services provider is looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their team.

The 2nd Line Support Engineer will cover all aspects of 1st and 2nd line desktop support including logging calls into Service Manager, business application support, some minor development and supporting clients working in the office and remotely from home and remote offices.

About the 2nd Line Support Engineer role:

* Analysing incidents and problems that occur on workstations and their associated operating systems and software, taking full ownership until it is resolved to the clients' satisfaction
* Providing desk-side assistance for all other desktop equipment such as iphones/ipads devices, telephones, scanners and printers
* Maintaining an excellent market knowledge of desktop technology to ensure that both IT and the business areas are utilising the best available products
* Working with Stock Management to ensure that hardware stock levels are maintained
* Analysing incidents on Market data applications, including installation, troubleshooting and liaison with 3rd party vendors and/or Technology internal Market Data team [Bloomberg, Reuters, Fidessa, Capstone etc]
* Providing value-added support and assistance focused on database and spreadsheets, including macros and links
* Creating AD and Exchange 2010 accounts
* Building and installing PCs and Laptops with all necessary software and accessories
* Using Microsoft SCCM tool to install all standard applications from the central repository
* Liaising with Core Services to ensure that the PC and Laptop builds are continually maintained and secured

Required technical skills for the 2nd Line Support Engineer role:

* Windows 10
* Office 365
* Active Directory
* Exchange 2010
* MS XP operating system and MS Windows 7/10
* Office 2010
* Administration of VMware
* AirWatch Microsoft SCCM
* Active Directory/GPO

Additional Skills for the 2nd Line Support Engineer role:

* 5 years' experience in a similar role
* Good technical knowledge in supporting the hardware and configuration of desktop, printers & laptops
* Excellent oral & written communication, and fluency in English
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to effectively manage your day to day workload
* Ability to multitask and prioritise
